Event - Storytelling with the Young Child.

17th November 2007: A workshop with Ruth Marshall,
Storyteller and Author of 'Celebrating Irish Festivals'
was held on Saturday, 17th November 2007 at 10 am to
1pm in Greenbank Hall, Quigley's Point.
The event was well attended by parents and childcare
professionals from Donegal and Derry. Afterwards a lunch
with the families of participants was enjoyed by all.

Biography of Ruth Marshall
Ruth is a folklore collector, mother and poet. From Scotland
originally and now settled in County Clare, Ruth has had
many experiences in the verbal arts including puppetry
and storytelling. She has written the children's activity
book "Celebrating Irish Festivals", a rich treasury
of stories, beautiful illustrations, poems, traditions,
food, activities, games, dances and songs. Ruth has celebrated
the Celtic festivals for 30 years. She has offered workshops
in personal development, creativity and healing for community
groups. Ruth is also a graduate of Steiner kindergarten
teacher training. Recently, Ruth has studied with leading
American storyteller and author Nancy Mellon on 'the healing
art of storytelling'. Ruth says, "I remain passionate
about the healing potential of poetry and story and the
power of the spoken word to effect change in our lives
and in the world." |
